Q. What do we need to know before we email you about our trip?
A. Voyager Watertaxi needs to know were you want to go, how many people and kayaks we will be transporting and your pick-up time.
Q. How many people and kayaks can you pick up at one time?
A. Our watertaxi, the "Voyager" can take 10 people and 10 kayaks. The "Hurricane" can take 2 people and 2 kayaks
Q. What is the watertaxi cost from Fair Harbour to the Brooks Peninsula?
A. Depending upon the number of passengers and kayaks, the Voyager ranges from $200 to $500, and the Hurricane is $110 to $250.
Q. How long a drive is it from Campbell River
to Fair Harbour?
A. It takes about 3 ½ hours to drive from point to point.
Q. Is there someone to look after my car in Fair Harbour?
A. Yes, there are 2 people who live in Fair Harbour.
Q. Is there camping in Fair Harbour?
A. Yes, there
is a camping area
Q. Where do we meet you in Fair Harbour?
A. Drive down the Government dock. If you can’t drive
down the dock you are at the wrong dock
Q. Do our kayaks need to be empty for loading?
A. Yes the kayaks need to be 100% empty before loading.
Q. Will we be dry in the boat and where will our kayaks be stored on the watertaxi?
A. Yes, you will be dry - seated in the cabin of the watertaxi. The kayaks go on the roof.
Q. How long does it take from Fair Harbour to the Brooks Peninsula?
A. It takes 1 ½ to 2 hrs in the "Voyager" (10 passenger).
Q. How do we pay? Do you require a deposit?
A. Please bring cash. No, I don’t require deposit
Q. How do we reach you if we're out paddling and need a ride back?
A. Just call me on VHF 14 or use your Sat phone.
Q. Where can we rent a Satellite phone?
A. Rent a VHF Radio or a satellite phone (about $50/week and $2/minute to talk) from North Island Communications in Campbell River at 250-287-9207 (toll free 1-877-977-9207).
